As part of SayPro’s commitment to fostering strong academic writing skills, all participants are required to meet specific quarterly writing targets. These targets ensure consistent engagement with writing practice, meaningful progress in research and composition skills, and the production of high-quality work that reflects academic rigor and creative thinking.
Each participant is expected to complete a minimum of two (2) full-length academic writing pieces over the course of the quarter.
Each written piece should be approximately 3,000 to 5,000 words in length. This range allows for in-depth exploration of topics and the development of complex arguments, analyses, or narratives.

All quarterly writing pieces will be reviewed and assessed by SayPro instructors based on the following core criteria:

Creativity | Shows an ability to approach academic topics with originality or interdisciplinary insight. |
Formatting & Citation | Follows assigned formatting styles (APA, MLA, etc.) and includes accurate references. |
Instructors will provide detailed feedback on each submitted piece, including suggestions for improvement and a progress rating toward overall learning goals.
To support accountability and organization, participants are required to maintain a Writing Progress Log (previously outlined), where they:
SayPro facilitators will check in with each participant at biweekly intervals to ensure that they are on track to meet their quarterly targets. These sessions may include individual reviews, peer feedback discussions, or writing workshops.
