Assignments Based on Verbal and Written Tasks

Training Phase: Delivery (June 2โ€“25, 2025)

Objective:

To assess participantsโ€™ ability to apply key verbal and written communication skills in realistic, professional scenarios. These assignments are designed to reinforce learning, provide measurable progress, and support personalized feedback.


Written Communication Assignments

Purpose: To develop clarity, tone, structure, and professionalism in written correspondence.

Examples of Tasks:

  1. Email Drafting Exercise
    • Write a professional response to a customer complaint.
    • Focus: tone, empathy, structure, and grammar.
  2. Internal Memo Creation
    • Draft a memo announcing a new workplace policy.
    • Focus: clarity, audience awareness, formatting.
  3. Report Writing Task
    • Create a short summary report on a team project update.
    • Focus: structure, objectivity, and concise language.
  4. Editing Assignment
    • Revise a poorly written business email using learned techniques.
    • Focus: clarity, conciseness, tone adjustment.

Verbal Communication Assignments

Purpose: To practice clarity, pacing, confidence, and engagement in spoken communication.

Examples of Tasks:

  1. Self-Introduction Recording
    • Record a 1โ€“2 minute video introducing yourself professionally.
    • Focus: voice modulation, clarity, posture, and eye contact (if video).
  2. Scenario-Based Role Play
    • Record a response to a simulated workplace conflict.
    • Focus: empathy, professionalism, persuasive tone.
  3. Presentation Segment
    • Deliver a 3โ€“5 minute talk on a topic of your choice related to your job or studies.
    • Focus: structure, flow, confidence, and verbal clarity.
  4. Verbal Feedback Simulation
    • Provide constructive feedback in a mock peer review.
    • Focus: respectful tone, assertiveness, and actionable language.

Submission Guidelines:

  • All assignments are submitted via the SayPro Assignment Portal under each weekly module.
  • Acceptable formats:
    • Written: .doc, .pdf
    • Verbal: .mp3, .mp4, or direct audio/video recording upload
  • Include your name and assignment title in all file names.
  • Deadlines:
    • Written tasks: Due weekly by Friday 11:59 PM
    • Verbal tasks: Due weekly by Sunday 11:59 PM
