Position Overview:

The Career Development Coach plays a critical role in supporting participants as they work towards achieving their career goals. The coach provides tailored guidance, actionable feedback, and steps that participants can implement in their careers. A key component of this role includes hosting and facilitating webinars and workshops on relevant topics such as career strategy, job search techniques, and professional growth. These sessions are part of the monthly curriculum designed to empower participants to take charge of their career development.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Career Coaching and Counseling:

  • One-on-One Coaching:
    • Provide personalized career guidance to participants, helping them identify and achieve their career goals.
    • Assist in identifying skill gaps and offer strategies for improvement, including targeted job searches, resume building, and interview preparation.
  • Career Pathway Development:
    • Help participants understand potential career trajectories, offering insights on industry trends and opportunities for growth.
    • Provide advice on how to align their current skill set with the demands of their target industry or role.

2. Facilitating Webinars and Workshops:

  • Monthly Webinars and Workshops:
    • Host and facilitate interactive webinars and workshops as part of the monthly career development curriculum. Topics covered will include career strategy, job search techniques, personal branding, and professional development.
    • Tailor each session to address the specific needs and challenges of participants, ensuring that the content is engaging, informative, and actionable.
  • Engaging Content Delivery:
    • Design and present clear, concise, and impactful presentations that resonate with a diverse audience.
    • Encourage participant engagement during workshops, fostering an environment where questions are welcomed, and attendees are actively participating.
  • Q&A Sessions:
    • Host live Q&A sessions during webinars and workshops to address participants’ specific concerns, offering personalized advice and actionable solutions.
  • Content Creation:
    • Develop content and materials for webinars and workshops, including slides, handouts, and follow-up resources that participants can refer to after the session.
    • Collaborate with the training team to ensure content aligns with current job market trends and best practices.

3. Job Search Strategy and Personal Branding:

  • Career Strategy Guidance:
    • Teach participants how to create a strategic career roadmap, setting clear and achievable short-term and long-term goals.
    • Help participants identify job opportunities that align with their strengths, interests, and long-term aspirations.
  • Job Search Techniques:
    • Provide actionable guidance on effective job search strategies, including resume optimization, networking, and leveraging job boards and recruitment agencies.
    • Advise on crafting job applications tailored to specific roles, ensuring that participants understand how to stand out in a competitive job market.
  • Personal Branding:
    • Help participants develop and refine their personal brand, focusing on how they present themselves both online (e.g., LinkedIn) and in professional settings.
    • Offer advice on curating professional content and sharing thought leadership to enhance visibility and credibility.

4. Skill Development and Soft Skills Training:

  • Soft Skills Coaching:
    • Provide coaching on essential soft skills, such as communication, time management, emotional intelligence, and leadership, to ensure participants are well-rounded professionals.
    • Facilitate group discussions and exercises designed to improve these skills, helping participants build confidence in the workplace.
  • Interview Preparation:
    • Conduct mock interviews to help participants practice answering questions and present themselves confidently.
    • Offer tips on body language, presentation, and handling tough interview questions.

5. Continuous Support and Feedback:

  • Progress Monitoring:
    • Track and monitor participants’ progress towards their career goals, offering regular check-ins and feedback to ensure they stay on course.
    • Offer continuous support throughout the job search process, adjusting strategies as necessary and keeping participants motivated.
  • Resource Sharing:
    • Provide additional resources such as career development articles, networking opportunities, online courses, and workshops to keep participants engaged and learning.
    • Encourage the development of a lifelong learning mindset, promoting continuous improvement and professional growth.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education:
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience:
    • At least 3-5 years of experience in career coaching, training, or a related field, with expertise in job search strategies, resume writing, and interview coaching.
    • Experience in hosting webinars, workshops, or group training sessions, with a demonstrated ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences.
  • Certifications:
    • Career coaching certification (e.g., Certified Professional Career Coach (CPCC), International Coach Federation (ICF), or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present content in an engaging and clear manner.
    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple coaching and workshop sessions simultaneously.
    • Proficient with digital tools and platforms for hosting webinars, virtual coaching, and creating learning materials (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Office, Google Suite).
    • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals, providing personalized coaching while maintaining a supportive and encouraging environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position (Remote or On-Site, depending on location).
  • Flexibility in working hours, including evening and weekend availability for webinars and workshops.
