To ensure consistency, clarity, and accessibility for the evaluation panel and program administrators, SayPro requires that all submitted materials be in English.
1. Language of Submission
- All components of the Submission Package must be prepared and submitted in English.
- This includes:
- The motivation letter
- Project descriptions or proposals
- CVs or rรฉsumรฉs
- Supporting visuals (posters, infographics, slides)
- Video introductions (spoken or with subtitles)
- Any explanatory or descriptive text accompanying visuals or external links
2. Translations and Subtitles (If Applicable)
- If you are including a video or visual content in another language, it must be accompanied by accurate English subtitles or captions.
- If source documents (e.g., identity documents, certificates) are not in English, you should:
- Include the original document, and
- Provide a certified or self-declared English translation alongside it.
3. Why English?
- English is used as the official working language of SayPro to ensure fair and equal review by the international selection and judging panel.
- Submissions in other languages may not be considered unless previously authorized or translated in accordance with these guidelines.
4. Clarity and Grammar
- While SayPro does not require applicants to be native English speakers, submissions should be clearly written and free from major grammatical errors.
- Applicants are encouraged to use plain, professional language that communicates ideas effectively.
- If needed, you may use writing assistance tools or seek help from a fluent English speaker to polish your submission.
5. Exceptions and Support
- In rare or special cases where full translation is a challenge, applicants are advised to contact SayPro in advance to request guidance or support.
- SayPro may provide recommendations or alternatives to help non-native speakers participate fully and fairly.
