📌 Task: Record and Upload 1 Video Demonstrating Proper Tool Use
Objective:
To assess learners’ practical competency and safe handling techniques by recording and submitting a short video demonstrating the correct use of a trade-specific tool.
Task Overview:
- Activity Type: Practical Video Submission
- Focus: Correct and safe use of a tool relevant to your registered trade
- Length: 1–3 minutes
- Deadline: January 31st
- Submission Method: Upload via SayPro LMS → “January Practical Submissions” section
Video Requirements:
- Introduction (10–20 seconds)
- State your name, learner ID, and the name of the tool.
- Mention the trade (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical).
- Demonstration of Proper Use
- Show how to safely hold, operate, and use the tool.
- Highlight key safety precautions (e.g., PPE used, work area setup).
- Demonstrate at least one correct application or use-case of the tool (e.g., using a hand saw to cut wood, using a multimeter to test voltage).
- Conclusion
- Briefly mention any maintenance tips or storage advice for the tool.
- End the video with a clear shot of your face for verification.
- Video Quality
- Must be clear, well-lit, and audible.
- Can be recorded on a smartphone or camera.
- Must be in landscape (horizontal) orientation.
Examples of Acceptable Tools:
- Carpentry: Hammer, hand saw, chisel
- Plumbing: Pipe wrench, tubing cutter
- Electrical: Screwdriver set, multimeter
- Automotive: Socket wrench, torque wrench
How to Submit:
- Log in to the SayPro LMS.
- Go to “January Practical Submissions” or your specific course dashboard.
- Upload your video file (formats accepted: .mp4, .mov, or .avi).
- Name your file:
ToolDemo_[YourName]_[ToolName].mp4
Assessment Criteria:
- Demonstration of correct and safe usage
- Clarity and confidence in presentation
- Proper use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols
- Submission before the deadline
